As a co-founder of TEG Risk, Hamish has been directly involved in machine safety engineering services, covering the whole risk management life cycle including:

Hamish developed his expertise through nearly 20 years of experience in safety management  and engineering practice. He has had roles as safety, health and environment manager for large multi-site food and chemical companies internationally and in New Zealand, and has taken the time to build his specialist knowledge through several training programmes and qualifications.

Ross Norgrove

Ross Norgrove

TEG Projects Director

Ross has spent more than 25 years in the manufacturing sector, with broad international engineering management roles. He co-founded TEG in 2011 after managing the Goodman Fielder group technical and engineering team for five years. This team provided capital project management and machine safety services to over 20 manufacturing sites. Machine safety has been a priority and specialty for Ross throughout his career, and with TEG he continues to provide professional, world-class machine safety consulting services.

Murray Larsen

Murray Larsen

Senior safety engineer

Murray is a highly experienced and qualified mechanical engineer with a multi-disciplinary design background. These disciplines include mechanical design and electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and safety PLC programming. Murray has eight years of experience designing cranes and lifting machinery, along with 13 years and the chief design engineer of materials handling equipment for the food and beverage industry. He has also provided high-level contract technical design services for machinery heat control.

Oliver Smith

Oliver Smith

Senior safety engineer

Oliver has a design engineering background and has significant experience in machine risk assessment, scoping and project management of machine safety upgrades at multiple facilities in the food and beverage sector. He was integral to developing the TEGRA app and is able to leverage its capability, providing custom management information reports for our clients. He can also use the data from within the app to compress the delivery of machine safety upgrades to a very high degree; where some works might normally take years, Oliver can complete them in months.

Charles Webb

Charles Webb

Safety Engineer

Charles has been undertaking machine safety risk assessments, design and specification work in the meat, dairy and packaging sectors since joining TEG Risk. He also has experience in the design engineering of bag filling machines, providing him with expertise in machine operations and safety. He has also had  senior roles in maintenance and contract design engineering.

James Hayter

James Hayter

Safety engineer

James is a recent addition to the TEG Risk team, bringing with him extensive experience in mechanical engineering. He has helped commission new large manufacturing plants, and working in technical sales for materials handling and automated glass and stone cutting equipment. Since joining TEG Risk, James has specialised in machine risk assessments for the meat industry.

Warren Wagener

Warren Wagener

Senior safety engineer

Warren has over 30 years of experience designing, installing and validating electronic and control systems in the aviation, fuel supply and food industries. His most recent work has been related to the design and installation of over 30 safety systems for the food industry. As a CMSE® (Certified Machine Safety Expert) qualified engineer with a current practicing licence with the New Zealand Electrical Workers Registration Board, he is ideally placed to deliver end-to-end machine safety design, best practice advice and validation.

Barry Kleine

Barry Kleine

Safety engineer

Barry is an equipment reliability professional with over 30 years of experience in equipment and safety performance. He undertaken several senior reliability roles in multi-national corporations, including time as the Global Reliability Manager for ABB. His sector background is mainly in the wood processing industry, and recently he has been involved in extensive machine safety reviews in the New Zealand meat industry.

Barry’s success in international roles comes from his hands-on background, coupled with his systematic, detailed approach to solutions. Barry is a meticulous expert in the identification of site issues, prioritising to get the fastest results and applying world-class processes in a practical, functional and cost-effective manner.
