Machine Safety Verification and Validation
Meeting The Internal Requirements Of Our Individual Clients
Our Verification and Validation Services ensure we meet the internal requirements of our individual clients. We can validate work in accordance with international regulations, as well as current safety standards (AS /NZS 4024) and ISO variants:
- Safety concepts (ISO 12100 / AS NZS 4024.1201)
- Mechanical aspects (e.g. ISO 13857)
- Functional safety elements, including safety controller software (ISO 13849).
TEG Risk Machine Safety Validation Checklist For Upgraded Machinery And OEM Equipment
- All of the risks have been suitably evaluated
- The right conceptual solutions are specified for your machinery to safeguard those risks
- Those solutions have been designed technically and correctly
- Those solutions implemented on your machinery or equipment correctly address risks and meet the necessary safety requirement specifications
- A compliant and safe manufacturing site or plant.

Supporting CHEP’s Machine Safety Project with our Independent Verification
We helped CHEP, a multinational pallet pooling provider, to evaluate their equipment across a network of service centres in Australia and New Zealand. TEG Risk carried out detailed assessments and developed standard solutions that were applied across sites with similar equipment.
Our expertise in machine safety meant we clearly defined in Scopes of Works the requirements and deliverables as far as documentation and validation by the suppliers was. This allowed TEG Risk to carry out verification activities throughout the design and build process and identify issues before they were built and provide a high degree of assurance.
This approach ensured that CHEP’s expectations were fully met, achieving a 100% score on their internal guarding assessment tool and complying with local standards.
What Is The ISO Standard For Machine Safety?
The main ISO standard for machine safety is ISO 12100 (the same as AS /NZS 4024.1201), which outlines general principles for designing safe machinery and reducing risks throughout its lifecycle.
It provides a structured framework for hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of protective measures to ensure worker safety.
What Is Machine Verification?
Machine safety verification is the process of checking that all safety measures, controls, and systems on machinery are correctly implemented and functioning as specified earlier in the design process.
It is usually carried out throughout the whole design and build process ensures compliance with standards - in essence “Did we build it right?”
What Is Validation In Machine Safety?
Enhancing Safety Standards for Gypsum Technologies
Gypsum Technologies (Gyptech) is a global company specialising in the manufacture of wallboard-making plants and machinery for the building sector. TEG Risk’s involvement delivered several significant benefits for Winstone Wallboards (WWB), including enhanced safety, efficient processes, clear communication, cost savings, and timely SOP development.
A key client requirement from WWB was that all the machinery needed to be validated in wet commissioning before it could be handed over to operators. This was a vast undertaking with tight time constraints. The collaboration between Gyptech and TEG Risk meant a comprehensive validation process was able to be completed across over 10,000 safety functions in a timely fashion.
This allowed the project to be delivered on time and assurance given to WWB that their plant was now safe to use.
